Morocco Retreats Announced!

Happy Tuesday ❤️ Exciting news – I’ve been speaking to my friend Sam who owns a beautiful riad in Morocco about running a retreat there in September. Just putting the feelers out before I firm everything up. Please share this post with friends!!

Potential dates are …

Sat 19th – Sat 26th sept
Sat 26th sept – Sat 3rd oct

7 nights in a beautiful Moroccan riad, gourmet veggie food (menu looks so yummy!), 1 meditation and 2 yoga classes a day with me and lots of free time to explore amazing Morocco – souks, surfing, hammams, massages, a trip to Essoueira or just chilling and taking some well needed time for yourself. I spent 10 months working in Morocco in 2013/2014 and can honestly say it’s an amazing place! I’m so excited about going back 🙂

The price would be around £450-£550 for the week including accommodation, transfers, all yoga & meditation classes and 3 meals a day. Check out pictures of Sam’s beautiful venue at

Croatia Yoga Retreats

IMG_0920.JPG Just finished teaching my first solo retreat in Croatia with the most wonderful group of ladies. Two classes per day, sailing, beaches, yummy food, laughter, meditation and relaxation – absolutely perfect ❤ It’s times like these when I really appreciate just how fortunate I am to be able to share this yoga with my students and travel to some incredible places whilst doing so. Looking forward to welcoming the next group in a couple of hours 🙂 Check the ‘love’ page for the retreat feedback Namaste from sunny Croatia xxx

A day in the life of a double yoga retreat

So we’ve just finished two back to back yoga retreats with our lovely guests and its fair to say we’re absolutely shattered … 4 days off coming up though!!

Just thought I’d share my daily schedule with you …

6am – get up (yes really!)

7am – arrive at Villa Mandala to prep the studio

7.30am – teach a 2 hour dynamic class

9.30am – breakfast with guests

11.00am – surf lesson and yoga practice

4.00pm – arrive back at the villa to do a bit of admin and eat cake 😉

5.00pm – teach either restorative yoga at Villa Mandala or dynamic class at Taghazout Villa

7.30pm – dips and drinks with the guests

8.00pm – host dinner

9.30pm – leave Villa Mandala

10.30pm – home, gin, natter & flop into bed

Repeat until knackered!

What do you name a turtle?

I am now the proud mother … not only of two kittens but a turtle and several toads. It seems the yoga villa is some sort of strange menagerie for random creatures which have either been donated or rescued. Naming cats shouldn’t be too taxing but what on earth do you name a turtle? Suggestions are most welcome!
The villa is undergoing construction work and looks like a bomb has gone off – rubble everywhere and only 4 days to finish the work until the next yoga retreat … Nobody is concerned though and it seems that this laid back vibe permeates into all areas of life here … according to the Moroccans, “Jenn no walk … Jenn run”. I wonder how long it will take me to adapt to this new pace of life?
My first yoga class on the terrace this evening went really well. Despite having to really speak up over the roar of the waves on the beach below us, a little bit of breakdancing gomukasana went down a treat 🙂 class was followed by a feast of chicken tagine and a trip up to the roof to catch more of last nights meteor shower.
Just about to finish this blog post and the power has gone out in the whole village – it’s 11pm … The walk home up the winding cobbles to the staff house is going to be hairy in the pitch black and I currently can’t find the key … Oh dear :/

A leap of faith

So I’ve finally taken the plunge and left my career as a school teacher to become a full time yogi. The prospect of leaving a stable career I’ve spent so long training for is daunting … add to that the fact I’m leaving for Morocco tomorrow to teach at a yoga retreat for 6 months and this really feels like a leap of faith.

As I’m writing this I’m debating the merits of hareem pants over leggings as I try to pack my life into 20kgs. The house is let, the car is (almost) sold, the family rounds have been done and the only thing left to do is hop on the plane and hope for the best. Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight for a good send off! image
